About Us

We are a group of scientists interested in how the brain creates our visual perception of the world.

We investigate a wide range of visual phenomena, from the basic anatomical and functional organization of the early visual pathway, to more cognitive and conceptual aspects of visual processing.

We often take unconventional routes to approach old questions, such as our collaboration with professional magicians or the use of visual illusions and works of art in our experiments.

In addition, we use our knowledge of the operations performed by the visual pathway as an analogy to understand other brain functions, like decision making and moral processing.
